Happy Gilmore wasn't very good at playing ice hockey, but with a slapshot swing that could send a puck soaring 400 yards, Happy decided to try his luck at golf. He went to the driving range to hustle golfers with his swing, and Happy met former golf star Chubbs Peterson. Chubbs' pro golf career ended when his right hand was bitten off by an alligator in 1965, and Chubbs managed to tear one one of the alligator's eyes. Chubbs encouraged Happy to enter a golf tournament, and he became Happy's mentor. While on the Pro Golf Tour, Happy Gilmore noticed that one of his golf balls was taken by a one-eyed alligator. Happy attacked the alligator, got his ball back, and went on to win the golf tournament!
